
James has held various senior positions across the mobile technology sector covering aggregation, content, broadcast media, marketing and social media over the past 17 years. He is an experienced marketer, Africa enthusiast & champion for enlightened self- regulation. As a long-standing liaison to numerous regulatory bodies covering 5 continents, James is the current Chairman of WASPA, the South African VAS regulatory association, where he has sat on their board since 2013, and prior to becoming Chair, he was the Head of the Code of Conduct Portfolio (2015 – 2017) and Head of Communications & PR Portfolio (2013 – 2015).
Since 2015, James has served as an EMEA Board director for MEF (Mobile Ecosystem Forum), bringing his passion for Africa and industry advocacy to the Board to facilitate Pan-regional market opportunities for members. He currently Chairs the Africa Steering Committee, and was a key contributor to the the recently published MEF Nigeria Report.
Since joining Basebone in 2011, James has been instrumental in launching their aggregation business across Africa, and in 2017, launched Basebone Connects, the groups global aggregation business.
